International Alert’s mission is to help find peaceful solutions to conflicts by bringing divided communities together to resolve their differences - without violence - and providing local people with training, advice and support.

This is crucially important in Rwanda, where International Alert bring together the groups most affected by the 1994 genocide and its consequences: survivors, ex-prisoners, ex-combatants and young people, to build trust and understanding between them. All of which is crucial to building a sustainable peace in the country.
