'I've Got A Girl'

Flyte

British alt-pop band ‘Flyte’ bring in Directors Joe Wills and Jack Whiteley to create this retro music video for their latest single ‘I’ve Got A Girl’.

Junior Colourist Jules Wileman loved working with the team and said that ‘Joe and Jack were great, giving detailed references and notes whilst also leaving room to experiment and push the grade.’

With the challenge of remote grading, the whole team were a huge help when it came to briefing Jules - ‘the overarching aim was to give the video a green, nightmarish look without losing the pop of red. This was a great challenge as it was all about finding the perfect amount of vibrancy without making the video feel garish.’

Jules added, ‘another interesting aspect of the video was the harpsicord scene at the end. Initially, we decided to lean towards a more heavenly look, adding glow and separating this section from the rest of the video. However, after reviewing the grade, Joe and Jack wanted to make this scene align more with the rest, so we added a hint of green and pulled back the glow.’

Producer Lou Gallagher, who as always was on hand to make the job run as smooth as possible, kindly expressed that ‘it was a pleasure to work with Jules and Ava at Absolute Post on this project - their attention to detail, desire to ensure our vision comes alive on screen and commitment to hitting delivery, no matter the challenging timelines, never fails to impress us.’
