For the past 8 weeks some of our guys and gals have been giving up their Thursday evenings to take part in the London Advertising Softball League. There have been some highs and some very low, lows. And as the league draws to an end (for us), here's a few words from our Captain, Mr Philip Oldham...
"Wow, what a great final game.
With Simon and Mike pitching, we managed to control a very well drilled opposition. After losing the toss, Absolute was sent out to field, the first inning we suffered a tough target to catch up. However after some really great fielding and a dramatic out by Christina on 3rd, there felt a turn of tide. The batting by everyone was tight, and Shakespeare had nerves of steel totally psyching out the pitcher. The runs trickled in as the game continued, but the true magic was in the fielding, Mikey brown caught 3 straight out, it was beautiful to watch.
After some more solid batting, with some great hits by Shaz and his girlfriend Estell, and some big hits from Simon and Johnny we were closing the gap.
There was a major injury when Carl smashed through 1st base. He was out of action, but continue anyway, with Caroline running for him. With Carl now covering home, Geri commanded 1st base.
In the end the lead was just to big to close, but with a final score of 19-12 it was a top performance to round out our last game of the season.
Well done team."
